A child, who flew from Liberia to O’Hare, and quarantined at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital has been cleared of a possible ebola infection.[DNA INFO]

New York  is the hotbed of national news today.
First, Dr. Craig Spencer a doctor who returned from Guinea 10 days ago, has tested positive for the Ebola virus. He is being treated at Bellevue Hospital. NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio & NY Governor Andrew Cuomo held a news conference to assure the public they did not believe Dr. Spencer was symptomatic while he traveled around the city on Wednesday and therefore had not posed a risk to the public.

Kevin and Julia Dawn Garratt are the Canadian couple accused of spying near China. They have been in isolation for 80 days and are being held without charge at a remote facility in the border city of Dandong. [REUTERS]

• Amazon posted its biggest quarterly net since at least 2003; hat puts Amazon on track to lose an estimated $40.5 million for the year, which would be the company’s largest annual loss in 12 years.
