♦ Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly, two Americans infected with the Ebola virus will be transported to the US in isolated pods for treatment at Emory University’s Hospital.
♦ USC graduate student Xinran Ji, 24, died after being beaten in a robbery near the USC campus.
♦ Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, effective Aug. 18, will resign his seat following his Republican pirmary election defeat. Reuters reports he has asked Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to call a special election to coincide with November’s congressional elections.
WORLD NEWS
♦ Microsoft has been ordered to hand over customer’s emails stored on servers in Ireland, US District Judge Loretta Preska ruled. The judge would temporarily suspend her order from taking effect to allow Microsoft to appeal to the second US Circuit Court of Appeals. It’s been reported that AT&T, Apple, Cisco and Verizon all submitted court briefs in support of Microsoft, along with the privacy group Electronic Frontier Foundation.

♦ Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 7-4
♦ Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch ended his eight-day holdout which involved $500,000 fine and reported to training camp Thursday. He will receive $6 million instead of the $5 million he was scheduled to make this season, reports ABC news. They will waive his holdout fine.

♦ Donald Trump remains in the running to buy the Buffalo Bills along with Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula. He is prepared to make an all-cash offer reports AP, with the Bills most recently were valued by Forbes at $870 million but are expected to sell for at least $1 billion,
