The Queen of England, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II turns 90 today. The official celebration won’t be until May though the Queen took part in a walkabout to unveil a plaque marking The Queen’s Walkway. Portraits taken at Windsor Castle by Annie Leibovitz were recently released by Buckingham Palace including the one above with the queen’s grandchildren James, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise Windsor and great-grandchildren Princess Charlotte, Mia Tindall, Prince George, Savannah and Isla Phillips. • Amazon.com Inc. has won a $30 million contract to sell digital textbooks to New York City’s public schools.

• Balenciaga is launching a menswear line for spring 2017 for the first time in the fashion house’s 99-year history, they will stage a runway show on June 22 during Paris fashion week. “The show will debut the masculine vision of Balenciaga’s new artistic director Demna Gvasalia.”
• Designer Carolina Herrera of her namesake brand will be honored by the Savannah College of Art & Design, SCAD with the Etoile award on May 21 along with the exhibition “Refined Irreverence” which will be showcased simultaneously in Savannah and Atlanta at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film in Atlanta and SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, respectively.
