Yesterday Ben Carson finally having a reality check told supporters he does not see a “path forward” and won’t participate in tonight’s GOP debate in Detroit but he.won’t.drop.out so there’s that. Donald Trump Jr, on the campaign stump for his dad, appeared over the phone on “Liberty Roundtable” a conservative Utah-based radio show but was interviewed by James Edwards who hosts a show that’s been called “racist and anti-Semitic.” Mitt Romney is set to address the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah tonight where he will call Trump a phony and that “He’s playing the American public for suckers.” Katy Perry performed at the Hillary Victory Fund: I’m With Her Concert” held at Radio City Music Hall last night. Anti Wallstreet Bernie Sanders outraised Hillary Clinton by over $10M in February.

• Yesterday morning it was announced that aspiring William Randolph Hearst(er) Michael Ferro will donate his shares in Suntimes to a charitable trust to mitigate any conflict of interest. It was also announced that Chicago Tribune Editor Bruce Dold has been named editor in chief and publisher and Tribune publishing acquired LA.com. Remember when Ferro’s wrapports acquired Chicago.com? • Could Chicago lose the Lucas museum? Suntimes reports that Mayor Emanuel fears that may be the case, what with the lawsuit filed by Friends of the Parks and his inability to convince them to consider other sites than the lakefront one that was proposed. • We mentioned yesterday that former CEO of Chesapeake Energy Aubrey McClendon, was charged with one count of conspiracy, well as it turns out on his way to turning himself in he was involved in a single car crash where he died and early reports believe it was suicide. McClendon, who was named ‘America’s Most Reckless Billionaire’ by Forbes, is survived by his wife Whirlpool heiress, Katie and and their three adult children Jack, Callie and Will.
ENTERTAINMENT
• Zoe Saldana who is starring in the upcoming Nina Simone biopic is getting no love after the movie’s trailer was released yesterday. It seems the casting choice for the fair skinned Saldana as Simone is not jiving with audience or her estate. Saldana in the movie looks to be sporting darker colored makeup and prosthetic nose. A tweet from @NinaSimoneMusic responded to a tweet from Zoe with “cool story but please take Nina’s name out your mouth for the rest of your life.”
• Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall are set to get married at St. Bride’s church this weekend, two months after announcing their engagement. This will be Murdoch’s fourth marriage after his divorce from third wife Wendi Deng in 2013 and Hall’s official first as her wedding to Mick Jagger was not.

• Nike’s anticipated LunarEpic Flyknit launches today. Its described as a new, revolutionary running shoe that allows the foot, ankle and lower leg to work together as a single unit to emphasize natural movement and a feeling of fluidity.
• Target announced live on “Good Morning America” that its next fashion partnership is with Finnish design house Marimekko known for its bold prints and colors; the more than 200 pieces collection will be available starting April 17.
