The weekend is upon us and many of you are looking for a good time or at least somewhere to go, maybe possibly meet new people or cultivate a new hobby? WHAT:: AFROFUSION FRIDAY FEAT. DJ BIG N

WHAT:: WINDY CITY SQUASH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
WHERE:: University Club of Chicago | 76 E. Monroe Street 
WHEN:: February 21- February 28 
WHY:: The Windy City Open is a professional squash tournament held in Chicago in February annually since 1982. It is part of the PSA World Tour and offers the biggest prize money purse ($500,000—prize money parity for men and women) on the Professional Squash Association World Series International Tour. All the top men and women professionals in the world will be vying for this prestigious title.

WHY:: Artist, author, educator, and organizer Faith Ringgold is one of the most influential cultural figures of her generation, with a career linking the multidisciplinary practices of the Harlem Renaissance to the political art of young Black artists working today. Faith Ringgold: American People presents the most comprehensive assessment to date of the artist’s impactful vision.

WHY:: The next stop in Navy Pier’s Global Connections series is International Carnivale! The tradition of Carnivale is celebrated throughout the world in a wide variety of ways. Join us in the Aon Grand Ballroom on February 24th for an afternoon celebration featuring art-making activities, music, food, and dance from across the globe. Performances during the event will represent traditions from across the world, including Brazil, Colombia, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Greece and North America.

WHAT:: NSBE – CHICAGO ENGINEER’S WEEK EXPO

WHY:: Join the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) – Chicago Professionals Chapter for our National Engineers Week Expo! We have a full agenda from 9 AM – 3 PM with interactive and exciting Engineering and Science activities for Kindergarten – 12th grade students. Some workshops include Future World Buildings, World of Polymers and the Electromagnetic Swings for grade school students and a college panel and Speed Networking for high school students.
