WHAT TO WEAR, AND WHERE

You may have seen our social diary HERE chock full of some great events going on in Chicago this week. Now that we’ve solved the what to do problem, it’s time to tackle what to wear. With events such as Vernissage, Botanic Garden Harvest Ball, EXPO Chicago and Primo Classico Br’Italia shop the outfits below or take inspiration from them. You never know, you may be on the next ‘Best Dressed on the Scene’ list.
VERNISSAGE
For Vernissage which is the preview benefit for EXPO Chicago, it’s all about art. We asked Chicago stylist Cueatrice Scott for his take on what he would recommend for a lady heading to that event. “It all about the cool girl with confidence, someone with a strong self. I would suggest tuxedo pants and pointy toe pumps to elongate the leg line paired with a feminine ornate top. Or even a structured shoulder treatment and showing some cleavage or back.”
Cueatrice also emphasized fit, fit fit. Nothing cheapens a good outfit than poor fit. A good tailor can make an inexpensive clothing look like a $mil. Also depending on your height and what you are endowed with, it’s ok to wear short dress to a black tie event. If wearing a short dress, wear a tasteful length, pair with statement shoe. If you are more on the curvy side, play to your best features.
