SOBEWFF 2012 RECAP

Food Network’s SOBEWFF is the annual South Beach Food and Wine Festival that was started by Lee Schrager and has since grown into the it scene for the top chefs in the country and food lovers alike to gather. This year’s festival ran from February 23-26 and Chicago was duly represented.
The official opening bash dubbed Moët Hennessy’s the Q was presented by Chicago based Allen Brother Steaks. Chef Ryan LaRoche of NoMI, Chef Rick Gresh of David Burke’s Primehouse, Chef Stephanie Izard of Girl and the Goat and Jimmy Bannos Sr. & Jr. of The Purple Pig all participated in a SoBe event.
The incomparable Charlie Trotter who announced his sabbatical from the kitchen New Years eve was honored alongside Winemaker Marchese Piero Antinori. It’s always great to see Chicago recognized for great things!
