Pirelli’s annual calendar which in the past have featured very scantily clad or barely covered, racy models is taking a 180 turn for their 2016 edition as they will feature some of the world’s most inspiring women, 2 Chicagoans included in the mix. Ariel Investments President, mother and wife to George Lucas, Melody Hobson as well as Rookie mag Editor in Chief and Oak Park native Tavi Gevinson will each be given their own months and join a #Boss squad featuring the likes of Patti Smith, Amy Schumer, Serena Williams, Yoko Ono, Shirin Neshat, Ava Duvernay, Fran Leibovitz and forward by Yao Chen. The calendar which was shot by noted photographer Annie Leibovitz held a photocall press event at Grosvenor House in London today to launch the 2016 Pirelli Calendar as well as a gala that evening at The Roundhouse.

Not all those featured were clothed; Serena Williams and Amy Schumer showed skin and also a message to be confident in your own body.
