In campaign finance news, it seems the Donald might be cash strapped with only $1.3mil to spend compared with Hillary’s warchest of over $40 mil and growing. Harvey Weinstein and wife Georgina hosted a fundraiser for the presidential candidate in their home and welcomed guests including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Martha Stewart.
• United Continental Holdings, the third-largest U.S. airline by traffic, outlined plans to boost profitability through a mix of cost and efficiency measures and securing higher fares from fliers. The 9 month time frame set by Munoz when he was initially appointed CEO was delayed due to his heart attack and activist investor spat. United aims to secure almost half of the financial improvements—some $1.5 billion over the three years—by securing additional revenue and higher fares by better segmenting its passengers according to their willingness to pay. Tickets are about to be even more expensive, sigh.
