Congratulations are due to Elaine Welteroth for her promotion to Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue. At 29 years old, this promotion makes her the youngest person to hold the EIC position in Conde Nast history and the second African American to lead a Conde Nast publication.
Elaine joined the Teen Vogue masthead in 2012 and held one of the most coveted jobs in the publishing industry as Teen Vogue’s Beauty and Health Director. Before Teen Vogue Ms. Welteroth’s resume includes stints at Ebony Magazine and Glamour Magazine. She completed her studies in mass communication and journalism at Cal State Sacramento.
Welteroth will head the magazine with Digital Editorial Director Philip Picardi and Creative Director Marie Suter. Hopefully she will continue her work of bringing diversity to the forefront of our mainstream media.
