They revolutionized the vaccum cleaner and now Dyson is looking to do the same thing for the hair dryer with their new Supersonic hairdryer. In launching the new product earlier today, Dyson tweeted:
5 years. 103 engineers. #Dyson Supersonic is making an entrance. It’s the hair dryer as you’ve never seen it before.
The hairdryer does not come cheap and its even more expensive than the popular dryer brands out now including Solano, T3 or Drybar, coming in at $399.99 and it won’t be available until September.
The Dyson Supersonic™ Fuchsia/Iron consists of a Smoothing nozzle, Styling concentrator, Diffuser, Non-slip mat and a Storage hanger plus a limited edition leather travel case.
The promotional images for the product though is a bit curious and perhaps telling of their target market/audience. The models have long silky flowing hair, which makes me wonder does that mean one without such texture cannot use it? Or will it be that such sleek flowy locks seen in the promotional images can be achieved regardless of texture? Perhaps a little more attention to hair texture diversity in their market rollout, especially in 2016, would have been appreciated.
So far our limited research shows this is definitely the most expensive blow dryer out and its not even fully in the market yet. Will you be shelling $400 for these?
