It’s #summertimeChi so there’s a lot taking place this weekend but these are the recommended ones for  you to go either solo or with a group for a good time. FRIDAY AUGUST 23

WHAT :: Red Sky Night- Gala Event for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Red Sky Night is part of the Leukemia Cup Regatta series of on-the-water events that combine the joys of boating with the important task of curing cancer. Since 2007, the Chicago Leukemia Cup has nearly more than $4.5 million, making us the second-highest fundraiser in the nation. WHAT :: Taste of Greektown festival!

WHERE:: Greektown| 400 S. Halsted Street, Chicago 
WHEN :: Friday, August 23: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. | Saturday, August 24 & Sunday, August 25: 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
WHY:: Greektown’s biggest street fest is returning for its 30th year and your re invited to celebrate Hellenic pride as you eat your way down Halsted Street, indulging in authentic food classics and drinks, the epicenter of Chicago’s culturally-rich Greek restaurant scene.

WHAT :: 41st annual Chicago Jazz Festival

WHERE :: Millennium Park + Multiple venues 
WHEN :: August 23 – August 30
WHY:: The Chicago Jazz Festival showcases live musical performances by important Chicago artists alongside some of the greatest names from around the world! Since 1979, the festival’s mission is to showcase Chicago’s vast jazz talent alongside national and international artists to encourage and educate a jazz audience of all ages.
August 23-30 will feature free performances at venues all across Chicago with collaborating organizations Constellation Chicago, 51st Street Business Association, Hungry Brain, Englewood Jazz Festival, Elastic Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, AACM – Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians, Public Media Institute, South Side Jazz Coalition, Inc., The Birdhouse, Inc., and Sleeping Village; then culminating at Millennium Park on August 29 – September 1.

SATURDAY AUGUST 24

WHAT :: 360 Sky Yoga

WHERE :: 360-Chicago 94th-floor |
WHEN :: August 23-24
WHY:: 360 Sky Yoga welcomes yoga enthusiasts from all skill levels to a one-hour weekly class led by 360 CHICAGO’s professional instructor. Participants will be led through meditation and gentle flow movements to awaken the senses, stretches, breath-centered movements and morning sun salutations.

WHY :: The Women’s Board of the Chicago Urban League invites you to their 8th annual Summer Breeze Cruise for a Cause aboard Spirit of Chicago Cruises, which boards at Navy Pier. Proceeds from this signature fundraiser support deserving first-generation college-bound students in the Chicago area. The three-hour experience includes a gourmet buffet, open bar, shopping at The Best of Chicago Silent Auction, a chance to win money in the 50/50 raffle, dancing, music, and an opportunity to cruise Lake Michigan with over 200 people from the Midwest.
