THE GIST OF THE SCENE: 274 guests were in attendance at the 15th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Guild Board’s Lawn Ball at the Saddle & Cycle Club. With everyone dressed to mirror the ball’s theme “Midsummer Night’s Garden Party,” attendees enjoyed a grand evening of community, fun and most importantly, fundraising for the various programs Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago offers to enable all young people to reach their full potential such as violence prevention, STEM education and summer camp.
The 2019 Lawn Ball raised over $475K and this year’s paddle raise was in memory of Johnny McGovern, a beloved founder of the Guild Board and community leader of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Johnny McGovern’s vision and leadership helped to inspire over $4 million for the children of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago to date.
Paddle-raised funds during will go to support a program near to Johnny’s heart – the Arts and Culture program.
