♦ SideDoor, the new offspring from the owners of Lawry’s Prime will celebrate its first-ever Tap Takeover event in partnership with renowned California-based brewer Firestone Walker Brewing Co.
On Friday, April 18 from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m., Executive Chef Victor Newgren and his culinary team, alongside Firestone Walker Brewing Co. representative Rob Salitore, will feature special menu items perfectly paired with the expertly selected craft drafts.
♦ Le Colonial and Common Threads will partner for the first ever Plates with Purpose dinner on Monday, April 14, 2014. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour followed by an authentic Vietnamese six-course dinner. Tickets to the Plates with Purpose Dinner are $150 per person. The six-course meal prepared specially for the event will include exclusive off-the-menu dishes such as Canh Chua, a customary Vietnamese sweet and sour soup with fresh seafood and Cha Ca, a popular homemade comfort food that can be found on the streets in Vietnam. Guests will also receive a recommended Ommegang beer pairings with each course. Common Threads students will be in attendance and will help with the Vietnamese tradition of rolling with rice paper.
♦ Howells & Hood on On April 30th will highlight renowned California-based brewer Lagunitas. Beginning at 6pm, the special dining event prepared by Executive Chef Scott Walton will feature signature American-inspired dishes, each expertly paired with a selection from Lagunitas. The beer dinner includes a welcome reception in the East Banquet Room at Howells & Hood, featuring a beer tasting and passed appetizers, providing guests the opportunity to meet and mingle with Chef Walton and team members from Lagunitas. The reception is followed by a four-course menu (including dessert), each dish being thoughtfully complemented with a paired 6 oz. beer taster. This exclusive event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is priced at $49 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity.
