Beyoncé’s Chicago Itinerary

  • Where Should Beyonce Dine, Stay and Shop for Renaissance Tour Weekend in Chicago

This weekend, July 22 & 23, her royal flyness, the queen 🐝 Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter will grace the city of Chicago with her Renaissance World Tour. If you’ve ever been to a Beyonce show or even seen the clips from the Europe leg of the Renaissance World Tour, you know you’ll be in for an experience. Add to that our cousin Blue Ivy might grace us with her presence, baby its a celebration! Though our good sis Beyoncé is on the road for a tour stop in Minnesota before heading out war, we know she has a day and some hours before taking the stage in Chicago, and as your go to for all things luxury and things to do in Chicago, we’ve put together a Beyoncé Chicago itinerary. Read on for recommendations on where Beyoncé should dine, stay and shop during Renaissance Tour Weekend in Chicago

STAY

Coming off her show in Minneapolis, if taking the tour bus its about a 7 hours ride to Chicago, it will be time to check in to their hotel. Beyoncé and family can’t stay in any regular degular hotel obviously, they tend to be spotted at ultra-luxe properties and thankfully Chicago has several options for the Queen 🐝. The Peninsula Hotel just off the mag mile, has a 3,645 sq ft Peninsula suite that offers amenities she may like. Its got a baby piano, king beds, private dining for 10, wraparound terrace that gives views of Lake Michigan plus it was recently refreshed 3 years ago.  Following a $60M transformation of the well known brand that’s a leader in quiet luxury, Beyonce and family might choose to stay in the Park Hyatt Chicago’s Presidential Suite. Equipped with modern amenities and unique artwork to boot. If its the British vibe, Queen B seeks to rest her mind, body & soul, may I suggest the Langham Chicago another world class ultra-luxury hotel property in Chicago. The Langham Hotel Chicago Infinity suite would be perfect for the Knowles-Carter clan offering 2700sq.ft. of space on their 12th floor with sweeping views of Lake Michigan and even the Chicago river.

SEE

We know the Carters looove art, I mean they shot a whole video at The Louvre. They can be rest assured that Chicago will be able to give them world class art. Global artist and Professor Theaster Gates, if in town could take Beyoncé and family on a private tour of The Stony Island Arts Bank (currently on hiatus for the summer) and also update them on all reBuild foundation has been doing in the community, but I mean if Beyonce calls, what are you going to say, sorry no; be serious.  A personal tour of current Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago exhibit Gary Simmons: Public Enemy would be a great way to spend a day at the museum. But, if its abstract, impressionism or the classics they seek, then our Art Institute of Chicago is a must visit stop. They can take the kids to The Museum of Science and Industry in Hyde Park as well.

EAT

While we may not have Carbone, Giorgio Baldi or Pappadeaux in Chicago, we can boast world class, critically acclaimed food from many regions. As a pizza lover, though you might expect the usual tourist lingo of deep dish pizza, NOT HERE! Tavern style pizza with that sauce and cheese, ouuueee goooey good, please and thank you. Beggars is a fave I would always recommend as well as Spaca Napoli, oh such good pizza. If its Soul food Queen B craves, she can choose between the newly opened Soulé Chicago in West Town or the delicious offerings from James Beard award winning chef Erick Williams’ Virtue in Hyde Park. If its Vegan food Beyonce craves, like the specially prepared vegan mac and cheese, along with salmon” she had in London during her tour there, we can certainly recommend I Can’t Believe its Not Meat offers a nice array of vegan food though if its Vegan Mac & Cheese in Chicago Beyonce wants, her team might want to check out Sweet Vegan Bakes.

SHOP

While we rarely see pictures of Beyonce toting shopping bags or doing actual shopping, we know she stays in the best and current threads thanks to her bevy of stylists in her day-day life and on tour. Her stylist KJ Moody can ring up the owners of Coal N Terry, the brand that made her now very famous Beychella Homecoming shorts and several other pieces of the brand she’s worn over the years. While Beyonce is not one to opt for a flowy dress style, we think an Azeeza brand top or one shoulder dress could work for her. If Shiona Turini is looking to pull from the archives, she can pop into the Janet Mandell showroom inside 900 N Michigan as well to peruse some of her impeccable pieces. Beyonce has been in partnership with Tiffany & Co and so she can pop into their Mag Mile studio to pick up some more baubles. We also have a slew of luxury fashion houses on Oak street including Prada, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces to name a few that Queen Beyonce and her entourage can stop in.
