Swing For Scholars
The Chicago Scholars fundraising event will tee off at Naperville Country Club on Monday August 14. Funds raised from this golf outing will benefit Chicago Scholars and the Manny and Pat Pulido Sanchez Legacy Scholarship. Manny Sanchez, founding board member and his wife Pat Pulido Sanchez honored three Scholars with the “Manny & Pat Pulido Sanchez Legacy Scholarship Fund” last year.
“As the first generation in each of their families to graduate from college, Pat and Manny understand the inherent cultural and economic challenges many Scholars face in the pursuit of higher education. Pat and Manny have each experienced tremendous professional success due to their college educations and are delighted to offer a hardworking, deserving Scholar their own opportunity to achieve excellence.”

Field of Greens Celebrity Golf Outing
White Sox team members will pick up a different set of irons for a good cause at the White Sox Charities annual Field of Greens Celebrity Golf Outing on Monday, August 14 at Edgewood Valley Country Club. The fundraising benefit presented by Modelo, and supported by the Corporate Partner Program will have foursome players paired with a White Sox celebrity golfer. A round of golf, cart, forecaddie, breakfast, on-course lunch and post-tournament dinner will be included.

Northern Illinois Food Bank Hunger Scramble
If you’ve never found yourself worrying where your next meal will come from, consider yourself blessed. The annual NIFB Hunger Scramble presented by Old Second National Bank, will set off August 21 at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville. Golfers at this “fun outdoor scramble-style golf outing” can choose between morning or early afternoon tee time and will also be treated to on-course tastings, giveaways, and scenic views.

ALS Association Greater Chicago ALS Classic
You may have heard of ALS and maybe not sure exactly what it is. You might remember in 2014 the global phenomenon that was the Ice Bucket challenge for ALS that took off with “over 17 million people participating in the Challenge and raised $115 million for The ALS Association.” You may have recently read about Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner Bryan Randall’s passing away after a 3 year private battle and not sure what it is. ALS, scientifically called Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, the 2 powerhouses to help our body function. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. Some may call it the Lou Gehrig’s disease. Come enjoy a day a of golfing while helping raise funds for this important cause. The The ALS Classic will take place on September 6 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. Even if you don’t want to golf, you can also take part in the “post-party pavilion.”

Boys & Girls Club Chicago Futures Open 
You too can play on a PGA level golf course one month after a major tournament (BMW Championship) when you tee up for the 7th Annual Boys and Girls Club of Chicago’s Great Futures Open at Olympia Fields Country Club on Monday September 11. The organization continues to raise funds to offer thousands of youths in underserved communities resources to help them thrive from childhood to adulthood.

The 37th Annual St. Ignatius College Prep Golf Classic for tuition assistance will swing off at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on Thursday September 28. The golfing event has several tiers of sponsorship and course registrations for those looking to attend. There are also opportunities to support if not participating in the game of golf, including a raffle tickets for some plush prizes and cocktails and dinner only ticket.

National Kidney Foundation of IL Golf Classic
The NKFI Golf Classic will be a fun day of golf on September 27, hosted at the Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton. What was started in 2011 by Art Morris, MD and Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois (NANI) as a fundraiser and an opportunity for socializing and networking among physicians, leaders, vendors and clinical colleagues, has grown each year and fundraising revenue grew accordingly.
Since 2011 this Golf Classic has benefitted the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, thanks to generous supporters, a dedicated planning committee and enthusiastic participants. The NKFI Golf Classic is played in a four-person, scramble format. Each team member begin each hole with a tee shot. Then, the team selects the best tee shot and continues play from that point. This process repeats on every shot until the ball is holed out.

BrightPoint (formerly Children’s Home & Aid) Lost Dunes Golf Outing
The fundraiser started twenty years ago to raise funds benefitting the organization working to address the root causes in foster care system that cause families to become unstable in the first place. ! Since 2013, the Lost Dunes golf event has raised more than $2 million to support Illinois children and families. This years golf outing taking place on October 2 at the Lost Dunes Golf Club in Bridgman, Michigan, will count on guests and supporters to ‘swing into action’ for foster care.
