SAIC window installation 2012
2012 Window installation

Last year was our first time covering The School of the Art Institute’s fashion show-THE WALK and also the Swarovski window installation unveiling as seen HERE. We’re excited to inform you that Swarovski is sponsoring this initiative once again this year and prior to WALK 2013, Swarovski  has partnered with SAIC for another special window installation. On Monday April 15, Swarovksi will unveil the window installation honoring FASHION 2013; Swarovksi is the presenting sponsor for WALK 2013 (love the company’s commitment to this!). The jewelry pieces used to create the visual displays that will be unveiled Monday April 15, were done by students in SAIC’s Master of Design: Fashion, Body and Garment program and mentored by Nick Cave.
The window installation which is a part of Swarovski’s “Passport to Sparkle” campaign features work created by 13 Master of Design students such as Hao Liu, Sisi Liu, Carmen Ro, Fu Hsueh Tsao, Lindsey Whittle, Man Yuan, Youngeun Kwun Yufan Gao. Windmills adorned with jewelry pieces from swarovski’s  SP/SU ’13 collection will be used and the window installation will be up until May 3-the date of FASHION 2013 (honoring Rodarte and Melissa Fadim Sage so excited!!).
SAIC juniors Blair Disbrow, Jordan Kiehle and Crystle Crubaugh have been chosen to incorporate Swarovski jewelry into their design presentation.

The commitment of sponsors like Swarovski challenges our emerging fashion students to use new and unusual resources as well as offering our students enriching educational experiences. -Nick Cave
