This past Tuesday, acclaimed chef Tony Montuano and Chef John Hogan welcomed over 150 guests to their new dining den on the river, River Roast. The restaurant, Chef Mantuano’s first non-Italian concept, that took over the former Fultons on The River space in the Reid Murdoch building is HUGE! but also cozy at the same time. It has a dining room downstairs with an open kitchen, two expansive industrial chic bars, a waterfront patio and six private events spaces that can fit from 10-1000. Some of the decor of the of the restaurant as well as the staff uniforms had a Mel Muoio touch to it-le chic!

Upon check-in, which had 2 mounted horses at the entryway, guests had their choice of which bar or food station which consisted of roasted chicken, whole fish and carved beef crisp potatoes, charcuterie, and oysters to peruse.
A lounge singer entertained guests in the upstairs area that was also decked out with extravagant floral arrangements for any bride to be or event planner to see how the space could be transformed. Downstairs, while some guests sipped and nosh outside on the river front, some enjoyed the sounds of the Ken Arlen Orchestra band Indigo.

The menu is “contemporary American tavern fare” If you are looking for lunch option that won’t break the wallet or in a rush?, they are serving their “lunchtime quickie” for $9.
