RACE TO MACKINAC ENTERTAINING IDEAS

I’ve given you style ideas (HERE, HERE & HERE) to make the scene at the upcoming Veuve Clicquot presents Race to Mackinac 2012 now let’s talk entertaining ideas. Rachel Schwanz of A Perfect Event shared some  DIY tips for you to throw a fab themed party or even a small picnic. Remember, presentation is everything. If you will be throwing a get together in your home, mix things up a bit without breaking your wallet. For a recent picnic themed event hosted at A Perfect Event, Debi Lilly, Rachel and team produced a spectacular spread. Don’t have time to get a gingham table runner? utilize a gingham wall paper and no one will notice the difference unless its that one  nosy guest(everyone has one at a party just like we all have that one creepy family member) in that case keep them occupied with summer boozy bubbles.

For your table centerpieces, use items purchased from your Farmers Market like sunflowers, watermelons, tomatoes. You can also re- purpose your plants by putting them in different sized containers.

If you decide to take your picnic on the go, use large mason jars to store your cut up fruits(you can soak it  in vodka, rum or St germain for an extra kick), have another mason jar full of skewer sticks and serve, cute right?! For the A Perfect Event picnic, they placed the boozy berries in a hollowed out watermelon and served, l-o-v-e! They also had coasters with printed recipes for guests

A refreshing recipe you can prepare now and serve later.

Boozy Berry:
2 pints summer berries(raspberries, sliced straw berries,blackberries, blueberries)
4 cups St. Germain
Rinse berries then place in large mason jars. Top with St. germain liqueur and refrigerate for up to 7 days

Summer berry bubbles:
2 tbsp boozy fruit
4oz Veuve Clicquot champagne
Add boozy fruit into flute, top with bubbles, enjoyIf you will be preparing a large gathering for 15 in your home or a simple picnic for 5 people lakeside, use some of these tips to wow your guests and save time and money while presenting a chic feast. Nothing complements Veuve Clicquot bubbly better than great company, good food and the perfect view of Lake Michigan while watching the boats sail away.
