The show must go on rain or shine, and that it did! on Friday(July 13) Lincoln Park Zoo was a roaring good time at the Zoo ball “Great Catsby.” One of the best parties of the year, this year’s zoo ball was no exception. As guests gingerly stepped out of their cars into the pouring rain, there were umbrellas at the ready to save the hair and dashing attires from being drenched. Luckily the rain subsided as the cocktail reception got into full gear. The VIP reception had guests such as Cindy(Co-Chair) and Dave Polayes, Mark and Kimbra Walter, Kim and Brent Moody, Suzy Gayot Hilbrant and many other. Lincoln Park zoo ball staff and volunteer did their part in helping raise additional fund with the” Feed A Friend” campaign as well as raffle tickets being sold during the gala.
Guests gathered under the tents while perusing the plethora of auction items that ranged from “Home” Jewelry” “Wine” “My kind of town” & “Travel” Auctions items ranged from a signed Magic Johnson Lakers Jersey, La Vida scooter, $10,000 Graff jeweler gift certificate, Signed electric guitar by the Boss Bruce Springsteen, a Veuve Clicquot basket, Rare Hennessy Paradis bottle and sooo so many more it was insane! Unfortunately i didn’t stay the entire night but the part i was able to witness was a whole lot of fun. The decor of the dining and dancing area was exquisitely done and guests even had flip flops waiting for them on the dance floor which is so smart because when you wear 2 hour or curb to car shoes the last thing you want to do is get up and start dancing while limping. Kudos to the co-chairs for a great event and the whole team for executing and raising funds to keep Lincoln Park Zoo free to all.
