Obama Farewell A few miles away from Grant Park where he addressed constituents in 2008, President Barack Obama came back to Chicago to deliver his farewell speech at McCormick Place. With First lady Michelle Obama, first daughter Malia (Sasha had school), VP Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden and 18,000 supporters looking on he delivered the 4,500 words speech urging not to lose faith in democracy or to give up participating in the American experiment. “Show up.
