An Evening with the Stars, an Oscar viewing party held at Hotel InterContinental Chicago O’Hare raised over $80,000 to benefit children and families struggling with autism. More than 200 guests including Chicago Fire & Chicago PD actors Jon Seda and Christian Stolte, former America’s Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez, Former Bears players Mark Green and Jim Thornton attended. Since its inception, An Evening with the Stars has raised over $500,000 for autism research and awareness and brings the glitz and glamour of Hollywood to the Windy City on Oscar night. The evening was co-hosted by WGN Radio’s Steve Cochran, and Comedienne and WGN Radio’s Patti Vasquez . THE GAME 87.7’s Spike Manton joined Cochran and Vasquez on the red carpet on the stage.

The United States Olympic Committee brought the magic of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to Chicago Feb 19/20 with the This Road to Sochi Tour stop which started at Pioneer court and caped off with a private party at ROOF at the Wit. U.S. Olympians in attendance included 2002 Olympic champion in bobsled Vonetta Flowers, Hockey Hall of Fame member and Olympic gold and silver medalist (1998, 2002) Cammi Granato; 2002 Olympic gold and silver medalist in long track speedskating Derek Parra and 2010 Olympic silver and bronze medalist and 2011 World Champion in speed skating Katherine Reutter.
