Movie Memorabilia Items From Gene Siskel Estate's Up For Auction

The auction house Bonhams along with Turner Classic Movies will host an auction Monday, Nov. 24 that will include a selection of items from noted Chicago film critic, the late Gene Siskel’s estate. Items from Spike Lee’s film Do The Right Thing, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year will be up for auction. The film’s director,  Spike Lee, gifted these items to Siskel shortly after the film’s release in 1989, in recognition of the critic’s early support of his work.

Some of the pieces up for auction include:

the Promax Super Jumbo Boombox,  which was carried  by Radio Raheem

The Pizzeria uniform shirt worn by Spike Lee i  (est. $1,000-1,500)

A 39-page transcript of Siskel’s 1972 interview with Stanley Kubrick.

A screenplay of Martin Scorsese’s classic film Mean Streets
