Virgil Abloh Releases 4 New Off-White Handbags Exclusively For MCA

In June the Museum of Contemporary Art welcomed the exhibition “Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech,” curated by Michael Darling, which focuses on the work and creative processes of Illinois-born designer Virgil Abloh, founder/CEO of Off-White and the creative director of men’s fashion for Louis Vuitton. The exhibit has opened to much acclaim and with that, in late August it was announced the exhibit, originally set to run until September 22nd, would be extended until September 29th. Now MCA has launched a new collaboration with Virgil for a new drop of exclusive bags for the exhibit. “Church & State,” the pop-up store that accompanies the “Figures of Speech” exhibit, will release of four new Off-White bags, designed by Abloh himself exclusively for the MCA in honor of the exhibit’s extension.

Located on the fourth floor of the MCA, the pop-up store also carries collaborations with Simon Brown, Futura, Brendan Fowler, Cali Thornhill DeWitt, Some Ware, Tom Sachs and more. This MCA press release notes the bags and the other MCA exclusives as an opportunity to “literally wear the art from the exhibition.”
