A year ago, I dove headfirst and went full entrepreneurship mode in hopes of growing SociaLifeChicago.
What have I learned in that year? That building a startup is definitely NOT easy. Financial projections are bull$!t. There have been good days and really crazy challenging days. Through it all, I’ve had a great support system of family and close friends that have kept me grounded, motivated and not settling for enough.
Did I make the right decision? certainly. Are there things I probably would have done differently looking back? You bet, but that’s why the journey is a learning experience. You win some, lose some but you keep pushing.
We are (finally) slowly moving from the polar vortex into spring and the thought of days without big coats, hats and scarves has helped put an extra pep in my step.
Since this is the beginning of the 4th month, 2nd quarter of the year, I have to ask: how are you doing with your 2014 goals so far?
We’ve recently launched a new look for the site check it out and let me know what you think (info{at}socialifechicago{dot}com), moved into a new co-working space-TechNexus in the Civic Opera building.
We will be updating our masthead soon so you can meet/see the new members of team SociaLifeChicago.
Be sure to follow SociaLifeChicago on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter , Pinterest and of course subscribe to our e-newsletter. We have some great content in store for you in April and you don’t want to miss it, FOMO is real. Here’s what I’m lusting over, hoping to see/do/experience this month.

A quick getaway to Miami or staycation in Chicago at the James Hotel is in order(4). To get that summer clear skin glow, JF Aesthestic Retinol Serum by Dr Julius Few(1). Smythson’s multi pocket travel wallet(5). For running around the city, the shoe of the season is the mule-like slingback sandal and the Balenciaga sparkle broderie (6) is on my lust list. Apart from my Nike running shoes, I barely own sneakers but my one pair of Pierre Hardy‘(3) has lasted me through seasons, I think it’s time to replace them with another like these laser cut high tops. Sometimes you just need a camera that fits into your purse and still powerful like the 20MP Samsung camera.
I asked a friend to describe me in 3 words and they were: Relentless, Driven, Altruistic. If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would it be?
