During Kerry Wood’s 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), some of those years spent with the Chicago Cubs organization, the pitching legend set many records but the one that really put Wood on the map was during his rookie season in May 1998 where he pitched 20 strikeouts in a one-hit shutout against the Houston Astros, cementing it as one of the best games in MLB history. To mark it’s 20 year anniversary, Gage Hospitality’s Coda di Volpe hosted a patio party in support of Kerry and Sarah Wood’s Wood Family Foundation.

Guests in attendance at the event on June 27 dined on pizza, antipasti while sipping on wine, cocktails, beer and gelato with DJ Ryan Silver on music. Gage Hospitality Group owner Billy Lawless was joined by Cubs Tom Ricketts, Kerry Wood and Coda di Volpe Executive Chef Chris Thompson.
