A bit dramatic perhaps, but I’m sure you’ve had this thought at some point in time. The title of this post should really be, “What Chicago dating scene?” Upon reflecting on everything good, bad, ugly that was 2012 I came to the realization that my 2013 dating goal will be to not have a dating goal. I made a goal last year with benchmarks that I definitely did not hit and was none too pleased(the 25% Type A in me). This year my dating energy will be focused solely on this site. My energy, focus and strengths will go into making SociaLifeChicago better and perhaps find out where this dating disconnect comes from.
I meet so many cool single guys and gals out and about and we all lament about the same things: For the ladies its the guys are too short, they are only out for one thing(sex!) and the list goes on. For guys: the girls are too demanding/high maintenance, not hot enough and so on. UGH! Being single is awkward and at times lonely but I know that SLC will not stand me up for lunch because of an emergency at Groupon, I know it won’t promise me brownies and never make it happen, it won’t try to be friends with me when I want a partner nor will it make me watch it’s pet for a week while out of town when the agreement was only 2 days(seriously!).
Recently I posted an article about IL being one of the top 10 states of eligible men, I will be sleuthing for these elusive educated and eligible men. I’ve also taken a liking to How about We, when someone recently sent me a link. For those not familiar,its a site where you suggest a dating experience and it’s free to join, Give it a try. I’m probably not the first and won’t be the last voicing this sentiment but that’s just how I feel.

I think what it comes down to is that people are overly picky. I try not to let a woman’s weight or looks stop me from trying to at least get to know her. If you go in with a checklist, you’re guaranteed to be disappointed.
That’s my two cents, for what it’s worth.
