The former acting US Attorney General’s testimony on Monday, in front of Senate Judiciary subcommittee investigating Russia’s meddling in the election, was highly anticipated and she’s the talk of the news cycle for a few reasons. • Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood, located in the Southwest side of Chicago, was the scene of a mass shooting involving several area gangs and now the Alderman of that area is under security watch due to gang threats. This was the area where 2 police officers were attacked last week (an arrest has been made in that attack). Gang members in the area have used assault rifles since last year and police have found AR-15s and AK-47s — weapons powerful enough to pierce bulletproof vests. Officer and community leaders addressed residents yesterday. In good Chicago news, Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo, through his Rizzo foundation is donating $3.5 million to Lurie Children’s Hospital that will give grants to families who need help paying for their child’s cancer treatments. Rizzo is a cancer survivor himself.
• A suspect has been arrested in Phoenix’s serial shootings that left 9 people dead. The series of random shootings from August 2015 to July 2016 are the alleged doings of 23-year-old Aaron Saucedo who was booked on 26 additional felony counts, including in another slaying that hadn’t previously been tied to the serial shooter.

• After his emotional revelation last week about his newborn son’s health scare, Jimmy Kimmel returned to his show Monday night to thank fans and also confront negative comments. He apologized for saying all kids should have health care. He also took Newt Gingrich to task for his comments.
• Amal Clooney and George are currently residing in London but Amal made sure to keep a long standing tradition between her husband and his Casamigos business partner going. Cindy and Rande Gerber flew to London to surprise George because George and Rande usually celebrate their birthdays together.

• Prada presented it’s Cruise collection for the first time in Milan as a standalone show rather than in the past when showcased with their ready to wear collections.
