Charlottesville! Heather Heyer was her name and on Saturday August 12, Heyer, who was part of a peaceful protest standing up against white supremacists was mowed down by a Neo Nazi. Friday night, white men carrying torches akin to those carried by KKK members in the 50s, “Unite the Right” were protesting the removal of Robert Lee’s statue. The commander in chief, in his press conference decided to pass blame on both sides, in an effort not to single out and alienate his large base of supporters that are known nazi’s lovers and white supremacists denouncing “this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.” Several of the klan rally attendees have already lost their jobs or received death threats after being identified including one Reno student, Peter Cvjetanovic, who strongly believes in his white heritage. Merck & Co Inc Chief Executive Kenneth Frazier, an African-American man, has resigned from Trump’s American Manufacturing Council taking a stand against intolerance and extremism; though from Trump’s early morning tweet he is still not getting the message. Two Virginia state police officers died in the crash of their helicopter after assisting in efforts to quell the unrest. Former presidents, current lawmakers and even celebrities had more consoling words to the American people than the president of the United States who is currently on his working vacation and was quite silent on the matter via his main platform, twitter as the protests waged on….Read more

• Former presidential candidate Marco Rubio may have a hit out on him, according to a recent report from the Miami Herald. The Florida Senator, who’s been a huge critic of Venezuela, has had added security following what federal authorities perceive as potential threats from one of Venezuela’s most powerful leaders, Diosdado Cabello, the influential former military chief and lawmaker from the ruling socialist party who has publicly feuded with Rubio. Rubio has derisively referred to Cabello as ‘the Pablo Escobar of Venezuela.

• Shonda Rhimes has signed on to Netflix in a multi-year production deal that will end her 15 year relationship with ABC Studios. According to Variety “the Rhimes pact reflects Netflix’s increasing interest in producing original series the company can own, as well as the arms race continuing to escalate between not only the streaming service and TV network.” Though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Rhimes was earning an estimated $10 million a year under her previous ABC Studios deal.
• The reboot of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm set to launch Oct. 1 has been leaked online. You’ll remember HBO was recently hacked and initially said it was just Game of Thrones episodes but this recent leaks included not just Curb but episodes of Insecure, Ballers and upcoming shows like The Deuce (premieres September) and Barry (premieres 2018).

• Matchesfashion announced it is opening a new 24,000 sq ft facility which will house a new media studio spaces to create its e-commerce editorial as well as video and photography sets. Matchesfashion, a luxury fashion e-commerce destination has seen increase in total online sales growth this year.
