Apple. Following a three year investigation, the European Commission has ruled Apple must pay 13 billion euros ($14.5 billion) plus interest for Ireland illegally slashing Apple’s tax bill between 2003-2014. The favorable tax arrangement violated the European Union’s state-aid rules. The standard rate of Irish corporate tax is 12.5%. The Commissions’s investigation concluded that Apple had paid about 1% tax on its European profits in 2003 and about 0.005% in 2014. Apple CEO Tim Cook has already responded with a statement saying he is “confident” that the decision from the European Commission will be reversed. • She’s used to watching the shows but on Sept. 6, before NYFW officially kicks off, Vogue EIC and Condé Nast Artistic Director Anna Wintour along with Huma Abedin, will host a fashion show fundraiser and rooftop party for Hillary Clinton. Prabal Gurung, Joseph Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs, Tanya Taylor, Public School’s Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, Diane von Furstenberg and more, will contribute designs for the show. Tickets range from $100-$25,000.
