President Trump.  President Trump has had quite the week and  a few developments late yesterday into today are worth talking about. First H.R. McMaster has been fired even though many reports already had him next on the chopping block but the White House had countless denials about it (hmmmm). McMaster will be replaced starting April 9 by former Bush Jr. era UN Ambassador John Bolton, a man described as being bullish on Iran and North Korea. According to Axios, Bolton was not Chief of Staff Kelly or Defense secretary Mattis’ first picks but Bolton will fall in line with President Trump’s agenda. Second, Karen McDougal, the former playboy model who alleges to have had a 10 month affair with a married then Apprentice host Donald Trump went on the air with Anderson Cooper last night on CNN. Stephanie Clifford aka Stormi Daniels will be on 60 minutes on Sunday evening. • On Saturday March 24, the March For Our Lives will descend on Capitol Hill and also in several cities across the country. TIME magazine’s recent issue features Emma González, Jaclyn Corin, Alex Wind, David Hogg and Cameron Kasky, Parkland shooting survivors and organizers of the march.  These young students are looking to affect change not to take away someone’s second amendment right. In some of the conversations about the Parkland survivors, some are saying why them and not the black lives matter collective, well to that they’ve responded that they are trying to use the privilege to help raise awareness. They know that other youth campaigns against gun violence, including those led by black activists in urban communities, have not gotten the same financial support or media attention. “We came from an affluent area, and we’re mostly white, and we have to use that privilege.” Some Chicago teens, victims of the city’s gun violence, are also heading to DC while some have planned a rally starting at Union Park at noon on Saturday.

In Chicago news: The Ramblers are moving on, O.M.G! Loyola’s Men’s basketball team, coached by Porter Moser, has been surprising everyone but Sister Jean during this NCAA tournament and Thursday night they took care of Nevada 69-68 to advance to the Elite 8. The Ramblers will play Kansas State Wildcats on Sunday. Chicagoan Lena Waithe is making major moves in hollywood and she is the April cover of the new Vanity Fair, the first under new EIC Radhika Jones. On Thursday, personals section of Craigslist was shut down indefinitely by its management due to Congress’s passage of a law that makes digital facilitation of prostitution a federal crime and holds websites liable for users who misuse personal ads. Reddit’s ‘Escort’ and “Sugardaddy’ communities has also been shut down.

ENTERTAINMENT

• Will Smith went on the Jimmy Fallon show where he performed a medley of “History of TV Theme Songs” with Fallon with a familiar show medley featured.
Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios Inc, bought the Weather Channel TV network for a reported $300 million rom the Blackstone Group, Bain Capital and Comcast. The network and its digital property was bought 10 years ago for $3.5 billion but its web property sold to IBM for $2 billion in 2015.

 

FASHION

• Lanvin’s looking for a new head designer, again. The once fabled French fashion house which has undergone some turmoil since Alber Elbaz’s departure in 2015, and was recently acquired by Fosun International has named Joann Cheng interim CEO while creative director Oliver Lapidus and General manager Nicolas Druz exits. CFDA announced it will present Naomi Campbell with the 2018 ‘Fashion Icon’ award at its ceremony in June.
