President Trump’s announcement Thursday that the U.S. plans to impose 25% tariffs on steel imports and 10% on aluminum has sent shockwaves through the markets with the DOW down 400 points Thursday. The European Union — the world’s largest trade bloc — signaled its response to Trump will involve a combination of tit-for-tat retaliation, “safeguard” measures to prevent a flooding of the EU market with steel diverted from the U.S. and a complaint to the World Trade Organization. According to Billboard, Huckabee’s appointment sent instant shockwaves throughout Nashville, one of the few left-leaning cities in a deeply red state, that some in Music City felt showed the country music industry’s reticence to embrace the social movements gaining steam in other parts of the country.
