Trump Budget. President Trump’s $4.4 trillion budget was unveiled Monday and its generating concerns. According to reports, the president’s spending outline for the first time acknowledges that the Republican tax overhaul passed last year would add billions to the deficit and not “pay for itself” as Trump and his Republican allies asserted back then. President Trump noted, “In this budget we took care of the military like it’s never been taken care of before.” The White House used Monday’s event to promote its long-awaited plan to increase funding for infrastructure. • Two Baltimore detectives Daniel Hersl and Marcus Taylor, were convicted of robbery, racketeering, and conspiracy on Monday evening, and they face up to 20 years on each count. The conviction comes months after members of an elite task force praised for taking guns off the streets, revealed the dirty deeds that were being done including robbing big time drug dealers. Most of the behavior charged in the case took place even as the department was already under federal investigation by the Justice Department for routinely violating residents’ constitutional rights, particularly in dealings with African Americans.
