As an editorial assistant you will work with the editor to produce and deliver daily content that will build audience, drive traffic and increase engagement. We are looking for an excellent writer who is creative, energetic, a fast learner and detail-oriented, familiar with wordpress & photoshop. Digital media publishing is a fast-paced environment and qualified candidates must be able to meet tight deadlines as well as possess excellent computer, communication and organizational skills. CONTENT EDITOR
SociaLifeChicago seeks an eagle eye #nextgen editor with a passion for content, who wants to be part of our fast-growing website and digital media properties. Our ideal candidate is able to excel in a fast-paced startup environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail under tight deadlines. This is a freelance role on a part time basis with the potential for longer term assignments for the right candidate as we grow.
Responsibilities:
Edit stories for content and structure providing constructive feedback to editor and writers when revisions need to be made
Occasional non-editorial copy-editing for including marketing, events, and design
Borderline obsessive about clean grammar and typo-free copy
Ensure all copy is SLC brand aligned.
Schedule will require flexible availability, including occasional last-minute, early mornings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years in an editing role with digital experience preferred
Writing, editing, and copyediting experience a must
Ability to think critically and dissect the crucial message of each story
A flawless command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar

DIGITAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
We are looking for a dynamic next-generation, highly motivated and creative sales person to help grow SociaLifeChicago. The Account Executive is responsible for identifying revenue opportunities, managing leads and cultivating a book of business across accounts. This is a great opportunity for a results-driven sales person with a proven track record of growing revenue or someone looking to grow their skill set. This role is integral to our continued success and you have the opportunity to help build it as we grow. Degree in Communications/Marketing/Advertising/Media a plus. Go big or go home is the motto.
Responsibilities
Build and develop relationships with luxury and premium brands
Seek out opportunities to drive sales while managing prospect pipeline; aggressively pursue opportunities for new business
Grow digital display revenue
Research and analyze prospect advertising and marketing needs; strategically develop digital, mixed media or offline solutions to suit their objectives based on our offerings
The role will include ad sales and creating sponsorship materials along with models and rates.
Qualifications

FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHER:
SociaLifeChicago seeks a freelance photographer to be a part of its fast-growing website and digital media properties. We are looking for someone who is creative, energetic, a fast learner and detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions. Digital media publishing is a fast-paced environment and qualified candidates must be able to meet tight deadlines as well as possess excellent computer, communication and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate’s schedule will be available for two to three days a week with flexible hours including nights and weekends. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to learn the ins-and-outs of Chicago’s scene, build a comprehensive portfolio and see your work on a high-trafficked website.
This includes visiting some of the newest restaurants around town, events/parties, and shooting around Chicago. The ideal candidate for this position is flexible, organized, responds quickly to emails and text messages, and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the week.
INTERNSHIPS:
EDITORIAL INTERN (Fashion, Society/Social, Entertainment, Food and Dining)
We are looking for candidates with a passionate interest in writing. Candidates majoring in English, Journalism, Marketing are strongly desired; Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, Internet/social media savvy with the ability to multi task efficiently and meet deadlines.Our ideal candidate will be able to commit to working a few hours, 3 days a week, and looking to grow as a writer.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
-Pitching ideas and writing original stories
-Assisting with market and photo research
-Research, transcribe, and write a variety of features; familiarity with HTML.
-Attending work related events
-Ability to identify trends in beauty, fashion, social media, lifestyle is a plus.
AD SALES INTERN
We are in search of dynamic Ad Sales Intern to join our growing team. Some of your duties would involve managing day to day requests from our ad sales team. Conducting research on prospects and assist in compiling competitive analysis reports. Understanding or willingness to learn web traffic metrics such as unique visitors and page views (ex: familiarity with Google Analytics, ComScore, etc.) is a plus.
PHOTOGRAPHY INTERN
We are currently seeking 1-2 event and photography interns. Duties include assisting with photo research, creating and processing images for the website, attending 2-3 events each week.
We are looking for someone who is creative, energetic, fast learner and detail-oriented. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to learn the ins-and-outs of Chicago and digital publishing. Attend, take and edit photography for events for use online and social media with quick turnaround. Photo editing experience using Adobe Suite is a plus. This is a for-credit internship.
This position will require the ideal candidate to have flexible hours including nights and weekends.
GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN: looking for a designer to assist with the creation of pixel-perfect graphics for web use. Must possess high attention to detail, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills. Will be part of process in creating preparing and optimizing graphics our website and social media platforms, as well as designing marketing and promotional materials. HTML/CSS experience is a big plus.
