Though our eyes will be fixated on who wore what and who failed at it, as the film stars and film makers strut down the red carpet at next week’s Golden Globes Awards ceremony-hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, we will also be playing a close eye on what’s on their plate and in their glass.
The Beverly Hilton Hotel, which has hosted the Golden Globes Awards for 39 consecutive years now unveiled the menu that the stars will dine on, paired with Moët & Chandon-the official champagne of the Golden Globe® Awards, January 12.
Executive Chef Suki Sugiura, Executive Sous Chef Chris O’Connell and Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Henzi presented a menu “inspired by California’s abundance of fresh produce and celebrating the global reach of the Hollywood Foreign Press.”
The 3 course menu will include an appetizer trio of Grilled Eggplant with Sundried Tomato and Pine Nut Hummus on Seared Tomato; Mini Sweet Pepper with Feta Cheese, Pomegranate, Herbs and California Olive Oil on Grilled Pita; and Grilled Artichoke on Multigrain Tabbouleh and Tahini. An entrée of Mediterranean Spice Crusted Braised Beef Short Rib and Sautéed Smoked Filet of Atlantic Sea Trout with Spinach Sweet Corn Ragout and Light Cream of Tomato Dill Sauce. Finishing with an inventive Gusto Mango dessert on Almond Sponge Cake with Crème Anglaise. All paired with Moët & Chandon’s 2004 Grand Vintage Brut Champagne, YUM!
To create an visually stunning backdrop for the dinner, Mark Held of MARK’S GARDEN has been tapped and he will use a varied mix of gorgeous gold-tone roses and rust-colored calla lilies for the floral arrangements. Each table will hold a glass vase centered on the table and wrapped with metallic fabric.
We will be on the lookout for these when we tune in to the Golden Globes Sunday January 12 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. .
