Feast Like The Stars! Here’s What’s On The Oscars® Afterparty Menu

On Sunday March 10 at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 96th Oscars® presentation will award one winner from the nominees in each of the 23 listed categories. Once the ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and featuring a slew of stars throughout the night ends, its time for the afterparty. The first stop for most, especially the winners, is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official post-Oscars® celebration the Governors Ball, no not the music fest but the Oscars® afterparty taking place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom on the top level of Ovation Hollywood.

This year the Governors Ball’s invited guests, including Oscar® winners and nominees, show presenters and other telecast participants are in for a special treat as culinary luminary Wolfgang Puck is celebrating his 30th year at the Governors Ball. The star chef, who heads up the eponymous Wolfgang Puck catering business and major restaurants, along with Eric Klein, SVP of culinary for Wolfgang Puck Catering, pastry design by Kamel Guechida and Garry Larduinat and their team are bringing a sumptuous menu to the 2024 Governors Ball.

The drinks will be handled by a familiar name on the Chicago bev scene, mixologist Charles Joly; joined by Mexico’s 2023 World Class Bartender of the Year, Israel Barón – to curate a selection of Tequila Don Julio specialty cocktails, including “It’s Showtime” featuring Tequila Don Julio Blanc, “1942 Encore” and “Round of Applause” made with Tequila Don Julio Alma Miel. Clarendelle & Domaine Clarence Dillon wines will be the exclusive red and white wines poured at the Governors Ball and other Oscar-related events. Brad Pitt’s Chapagne brand, Champagne Fleur de MIRAVAL – the only Champagne house exclusively devoted to Rosé – returns for a third consecutive year. Wolfgang Puck revealed in an exclusive with Good Morning America that his 30th Governors Ball menu for the Oscars after-party will feature items from three menus: passed plates and trays, small plate stations, and sweets to satisfy carnivore, pescatarian, vegan, non-vegan, vegetarian eaters.



Some of the night’s passed small plates offerings include the “WP slider” Wagyu burgers with sharp cheddar and remoulade, the popular “Black truffle chicken pot pies,” “Cacio e Pepe Macaroni and Cheese”(recipe below), “Bougie Tots with Crème Fraîche and Caviar”. Vegan options like “Kung Pao Cauliflower Stuffed Coconut Charcoal Bao Bun” and “Edamame Mushroom Carrot Potstickers” are just a few of the plethora of options.

When its time to satisfy the sweet tooth, invited guests will have about 20 options like “Yuzu and Coconut Pillow Cake,” the famous mini chocolate Oscars statue coated in edible gold, homemade pistachio burma, and more. Mendiants are traditional French chocolate discs with fruit and nut toppings.





If you are not lucky enough to attend the official post-Oscars® celebration the Governors Ball or the Academy’s live Oscars® viewing parties in New York and London, you can still dine and sip like the stars and enjoy your own Oscars party inspired by the menu shared above.

It’s Showtime
1.5 oz Tequila Don Julio Blanco
1 oz Pineapple Coriander Tincture
.5 oz Agave Nectar
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Combine Tequila Don Julio, pineapple coriander tincture, agave honey and fresh lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain over large ice cube into Collins glass rimmed with salt and pink peppercorn.

Cacio e Pepe Macaroni & Cheese Recipe:
Serves 1
8oz Cavatelli Pasta
2 Tbsp Salt
2 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Flour
1 ¼ cup Whole Milk
¼ cup shredded Aged Vermont White Cheddar
1 Tbsp Parmesan
¼ tsp Pink Peppercorns, toasted and ground
½ tsp Black Peppercorns, toasted and ground
¼ tsp Green Peppercorns, toasted and ground
1. Bring 2-3 quarts of water to a boil in a pot. Add 2 Tbsp of salt to the water and then the
pasta. Cook for about 8 minutes or to al dente. Strain.
2. In a heavy bottom pot, melt butter and then whisk flour into the melted butter.
Continue to whisk for two minutes on low heat avoiding any color.
3. Add milk to the butter and flour mixture continuing to stir until the milk thickens to a
creamy consistency and coats the back of a spoon.
4. Add white cheddar, stirring to melt the cheese into the milk. Add ground pink and black
5. Add the pasta to the pot and stir in the Parmesan. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
6. Serve!
