Los Angeles wasn’t the only hotspot for Oscar parties, around town in Chicago several oscar themed parties took place one of which was at The Gene Siskel Film Center of the Art Institute of Chicago. Hollywood on state’s red carpet affair was a celebration of the 87th annual academy awards as well as honoring Chicago filmmakers Seth McClellan, Daniel Nearing, Frank Ross and Bob Hercules.

The evening began as guests ascended the stairs towards the red carpet and ABC 7 Chicago’s Karen Jordan in front of the camera. Everyone, with drinks in hand, checked out the silent auction items on display (it was a fundraiser after all), mingled while catching the red carpet action on TV before the show started and noshed on passed hors d’oeuvres and buffet from Pure Kitchen. In attendance were Gene Siskel Advisory Board chair Ellen Sandor and Margaret Baczkowski, Richard Sandor, SAIC president Walter Massey and wife Shirley, Advisory board members David Hundley, Erica Lowe, Bob Zigmund & Jennifer Lake, Jason Dohmann(RL) to name a few.
