Goodbye C.A.N.S hello Nike! Bucktown’s well frequented Damen Avenue shopping area has an additional neighbor as Nike has moved in. The new Bucktown store which has a “flyboy” mural painted by CHicago artist Hebru Brantley who also contributed to the art inside the walls of the store. You get the sense this store is dedicated to running. Race bibs hang from the overhead and runners are encouraged to bring in their race bibs to include.
With the Chicago Marathon quickly approaching, the store is decked out in Nike Chicago marathon specific gears and the different streets on the race course also make an appearance.
The store officially opening Friday October 4 with various activities. Bucktown/Wicker Park/Noble Square/Ukie Village residents that love to run should consider joining their weekly (Thursday) 6pm join Nike Run Club for a group run of your choice. They assured me that it’s for all running levels and only 3 miles.
As you walk in, the store has women’s apparel and shoes on the left and men’s on the right.
