* J. Mendel a longtime favorite of the red carpet, gala and society set(Caryn Harris is a J. Mendel fan) has announced the appointment of Marc Durie as it new President & CEO. Mr Durie began his career in product management at Louis Vuitton, before moving to Yves Saint Laurent in 2003. “His intimate knowledge of the luxury world, along with his  experience in key international markets, makes him well-poised to achieve successful growth of the J. Mendel brand around the world.”
extensive background in merchandising and strategic marketing, Durie was part of the leadership team that engineered the successful turnaround of the house of Yves Saint Laurent. Between 2008 and 2011, he served as president of Yves Saint Laurent Asia Pacific, doubling the regional footprint and spearheading successful expansion into China. He returned to Louis Vuitton in 2011 as Vice President, Merchandising, Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for product and visual merchandising in 13 countries.

*INSTYLE has partnered with TrioFit Technology to launch THE INSTYLE ESSENTIALS “PERFECT WHITE SHIRT COLLECTION.” The editors of InStyle magazine worked with the co-founders of Trio-Fit Rebecca Matchett and Drew Paluba to come up with a collection of chic, white, button-front shirts using the patented sizing system that allows women to shop by bra size, ensuring a nearly custom-fit. It is available in 30 sizes ranging from 32B – 40H. This is coming after news of their collaboration with Nine West.

*DailyCandy And Tribeca Enterprises Announced their Line-Up For The First Ever “Fashion in Film”
It will feature Conversations with Academy Award® winning costume designer Catherine Martin(Great Gatsby, Australia, and Moulin Rouge!), Fashion Icon Iris Apfel, Albert Maysles and original films commissioned for the event. “Fashion in Film” will feature original films by filmmakers Christina Voros and Matt Lenski, commissioned by DailyCandy and produced by Tribeca Digital Studios. The even will run Sept. 19-20.
