Michael Sacks, CEO of Grosvenor Capital Management along with his wife Cari have committed $5million gift to Northwestern University, of which $3.6 million is dedicated to endowing scholarships for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) graduates to attend Northwestern University. Mr. Sacks, a Northwestern University Trustee, is also the vice chairman of World Business Chicago and a well recognized philanthropist in the Chicago community.

In this age of mounting student loan debt and rising tuition costs this is great news for future well deserving CPS students. The Sacks’ gift, which will enable academically talented, low-income CPS students to attend Northwestern, will establish the new Cari and Michael Sacks Scholarship Fund for CPS Students. The scholarships provided through this fund will help eliminate loans in financial aid packages for those students. Eliminating the loan component means the students will graduate without debt.
