Its so great to get back to programming at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra after that seven-week orchestra strike and we are excited for this upcoming event! Chicago’s very own Golden Globe and Grammy award-winning artist Common (Lonnie Rashid) will join members of the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association (CSOA) led by conductor Steven Reineke for the 30th annual Corporate Night Concert scheduled to take place on Monday, June 3. The evening will include orchestral performance of a selection of Common’s best known songs across his musical career such as “Love of My Life,” “The Corner,” “Glory,” as well as a few selections from his latest album, Black America Again.
This won’t be Common’s first time performing with a world class symphony as he performed at the Kennedy Center with The National Symphony Orchestra also conducted by Steven Reineke.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association’s 2019 Corporate Night is chaired by PNC Bank Illinois President and CSOA Trustee Scott C. Swanson and co-chaired by William Ward and Sheila Jones. Illinois Tool Works (ITW) will receive the Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Award, in recognition of their outstanding support for the CSOA and exemplary civic engagement in the arts and in Chicago. CSOA’s Corporate night brings together business leaders from across the Chicago area to support the CSO’s artistic, educational and community programs. You can buy tickets online or call 312-294-3120.
