Last week (July 17) Beyonce Knowles’ Mrs. Carter World tour landed in Chicago. Beyonce has been known to share her travel journey and life via her website and it was great to see some of the sites she saw in Chicago during her time here. This isn’t her first time in Chicago (remember the Great Lakes Pizza sighting). From the Chicken store on Armitage Ave, to her view of Navy Pier from what looks like the W Lakeshore hotel, and many other spots. She posted images from her rehearsal at United Center including the iconic statue of Michael Jordan, a shot down Michigan Avenue. It seems she spent a considerable amount of time around the Bucktown-Metra Clybourn stop (can we find some money to fix that area though?), Uptown-Aragon theater, and Gigio’s Pizza. But her stops also included Wrigley Field, Bronzville’s historic Ebenezer Baptist church. Glad to see Chicago through the eyes of Beyonce and for someone that’s not even from Chicago she surely showed a lot of non-touristy spots, love it!
