Chicago Hotel Launching Seltzer Pop-Up Shop

One of the fastest growing alcohol category right now, 50% between 2019 and 2020 with even more growth predicted, is the pre-mixed cocktail/ready to drink category which includes hard seltzers. Hard Seltzers, with its relatively low calories and low ABV, are predicted to reach over $2 billion by this year and there’s no sign of the category slowing down now especially not this summer with outside being wide open. A Chicago hotel is staying ahead of guest offerings game with a first of its kind offering, an in-house Seltzer pop-up shop experience. Chicago’s Kimpton Gray Hotel is setting up a summer destination inspired by the soda shops of the past you can’t miss.

The Seltzer Shop, a first of its kind pop-up shop which will be located inside Chicago’s Kimpton Gray Hotel (122 W. Monroe Street 60601), is a complimentary experience to both hotel guests and visitors. Guests are invited to toast with the most popular drink of the season this summer and enjoy 10 different brands in a nostalgic soda shop setting.

The Kimpton Gray Hotel Chicago’s Seltzer Pop-Up ‘The Seltzer Shop’ is designed in partnership with Rose Gold Collective, and it features over 25 different flavors from both up-and-coming and nationally-recognized brands, including Claffeys Cocktails, Flying Embers, High Noon, Jack Daniels, The Long Drink, Press, Sesh Beverages, Two Chicks, Spiked Ice Seltzer and White Claw.

Delicious and enjoyable flavors, such as watermelon chili, pomegranate ginger, lemon strawberry kiss and grapefruit smash offer visitors a fresh taste and invite everyone to create their own personalized tasting flight. “At the Kimpton Gray Hotel, we create memorable and unique experiences for guests every day…The Seltzer Shop is an extension of who we are and the one-of-a-kind encounters we create for those visiting or staying at the hotel.” says Kimpton Gray Hotel Chicago General Manager Nabil Moubayed.

Chicago’s Kimpton Gray Hotel “The Seltzer Shop” Pop-Up is launching on July 16 and will run through August 8; the pop-up is open Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Guests and the public are able to reserve here the complimentary experience on OpenTable. Each one-and-a-half-hour reservation includes either a curated tasting flight or a flight of four tastings from one brand. Guests will also receive one can of their choice to enjoy during the experience.
