Brooklyn’s (New York) trendy pizza destination, Roberta’s, is coming to Chicago for a weekend popup at Pilsen’s Dusek’s Board & Beer. Dusek’s Executive Chef Michael Galen in collaboration with Roberta’s Chef Carlo Mirarchi have created a special pie exclusively for the weekend-only pop up: a pan-style with arrabbiata sauce, four cheeses including creamy ricotta, caciocavallo, mozzarella, parmesan, along with garlic, pepperoni and sausage for a pie that has both the flavors of Brooklyn and The Windy City in addition to other 10-inch Neapolitan-style pies like Famous Original, The Beesting, Margherita and a Sunday brunch breakfast pizza topped with a fresh egg. The pop up will happen at Dusek’s Board & Beer (1227 W. 18th St., Chicago) on Saturday, November 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for dinner & Sunday, November 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for brunch. *While supplies last

DMK Restaurants is bringing a new resto-bar concept to Chicago. Fort Willow, a restaurant and bar set to open at 1721 N. Elston Ave. in early December, is described as a place for adventurous drinkers and diners bringing childhood treehouse to life. Fort Willow restaurant and bar will encompass 2500 sq ft of space, located in the Noble Square area of Chicago and will serve chef-driven and aromatic-rich cocktails, small plates and bowls like Indian vegetable curry, steak and egg fried rice, Florida stone crab claws served with house-made mustard dipping sauce and tempura rock shrimp and broccoli. Drawing inspiration from the roots and traditions of iconic international culinary destinations from around the world, Executive Chef Deirdre Quinn, previously sous chef at Ada St. and DMK Restaurants’ Beverage Director, Scott Koehl, have developed menus that honor craveable, international flavors. To add to the tree house theme, DMK’s David Morton and Michael Kornick commissioned architect and designer Chris Talsma of Filoramo Talsma and local craftsman, Arlan DeRussy, to design and build the space. A tree made from wooden slats ‘grows’ from the floor; its branches a canopy over the intimate dining room.

Edit note: what if I never had a treehouse as a child?
