Can’t attend Churchill Downs but looking to partake in the fun in Chicago. Not all derby parties are the same and our curated list below has something for you. GQ & WOODFORD RESERVE ON SATURDAY, MAY 3 Celebrate the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports al Fresco in Derby Duds from 3:00 -7:00 p.m.

WHAT:   Chicago’s ultimate Kentucky Derby Party will take place this year at I|O Urban Roofscape,in the newly opened The Godfrey Hotel (127 W. Huron St. at LaSalle), held by GQ & Woodford Reserve,
DATE : Saturday, May 3
TIME:  3:00 – 7:00 p.m. The first 100 to arrive at the event will receive a commemorative Woodford Reserve Mint Julep Cup. Limited seats will also be available for Bourbon 101 tastings by Woodford Reserve at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Guests will enjoy the afternoon sun and order from a special food and cocktail menu al fresco in Chicago’s largest year-round retractable indoor/outdoor lounge, while taking in the “race for the roses” on I|O’s LED video wall.

Men and women are encouraged to deck themselves out in vibrant Derby fashion and the “Best Dressed” winner will be photographed for a promotional listing in GQ. 

RSVP: Required – there is limited space available and the event is first come first serve:  Free – first 100 guests will receive a commemorative Woodford Reserve Mint Julep Cup

Tavern On Rush will host its third annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 3. Guests are encouraged to dress in honor of the Derby, as the best hat will be awarded a bottle of Dom Perignon awarded immediately after the race.

The restaurant will celebrate all day with special $10.50 Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps and a dedicated Derby menu including Kentucky Burgoo Soup, Crispy Churchill Fried Chicken Chopped Salad, “Run for the Roses” Potato Chip Basket and Kentucky Bourbon Banana Bread Pudding

National Kidney Foundation Derby for a Cause: Moes Cantina 3:00 – 6:00 pm
Tickets: $40 in advance, $45 at the door
VIP Tables: $150
Join our Young Professionals on Saturday, May 3 for their annual fundraiser! Ticket includes unlimited beer, wine, and heavy appetizers from 3-6 pm. Mint juleps and other cocktails will be available for purchase. Enjoy a silent auction, contests, and the most exciting two minutes in sports!
