Roka Akor
Roka Akor is celebrating Valentine’s Day this year with a special Romantic Omakase at their Chicago, Old Orchard, and Oak Brook locations. The Roka Akor Romantic Omakase menu for their Chicago location (456 N Clark St), priced at $124/person, will treat guests to four courses plus dessert. Menu highlights include Toro Tartare with Osetra Caviar, quail egg, and taro chips; Prime Beef Tataki with fresh shaved truffles, truffle jus, and pickled daikon; Chef’s Selection 5 Kind Sashimi Platter; Lobster Tempura with wasabi aioli, pink peppercorn, and tentsuyu; Snake River Farms American Wagyu Filet with chili Ginger Sauce, grilled fingerling potatoes, and yuzu chimichurri sauce. For dessert, enjoy Chocolate Lava Cake with strawberries, white chocolate, and vanilla-rose ice cream. Accendo Wine Flight is available for $69 per person along with Decadent Wine Pairing $85 per person.  The special will be available on Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. At the Old Orchard location (4999 Old Orchard Shopping Center) you’ll get four courses plus dessert priced at $107/person. Menu highlights include Lobster Miso Soup; Dynamite Scallop Maki; Rock Shrimp Tempura with crushed wasabi peas, and sweet chili aioli; Snake River Farms American Wagyu Sirloin with truffle aioli sauce, robata grilled fingerling potatoes, and yuzu chimichurri. For dessert, enjoy Chocolate Lava Cake with strawberries, white chocolate, and vanilla-rose ice cream. Upgrade to Japanese Grade A5-10+ Wagyu Beef from Miyazaki Prefecture for $40 per person. An a la carte menu items are available. The special will be available on Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14 from 12:00pm to 9:00pm; Reservations are required and can be made here.

In Oakbrook, Roka Akor’s (166 Oakbrook Center) Romantic Omakase will also consist of four courses plus dessert. Menu highlights in Oak Brook include Robata Grilled Diver Sea Scallops with yuzu aioli, and crushed wasabi peas; Kusshi Oysters with grapes Granita and yuzu; Yuzu Miso Marinated Black Cod with pickled red onions; Snake River Farms American Wagyu Sirloin with truffle aioli sauce, robata grilled fingerling potatoes, and yuzu chimichurri. For dessert, enjoy Chocolate Lava Cake with strawberries, white chocolate, and vanilla-rose ice cream. Upgrade to Japanese Grade A5-10+ Wagyu Beef from Miyazaki Prefecture for $40 per person or Certified Tajima Kobe Beef from Hyogo Prefecture for $70 per person. Roka Akor Oak Brook will also offer Champagne specials including Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Brut, Krug Grand Cuvée 169th Edition, and Dom Perignon 2010.

 

The Godfrey Hotel Chicago + I|O Godfrey

We’ve seen some amazing images and vids of proposals at this location and yours could be next. The tri-level rooftop at LondonHouse Chicago is the one of the most romantic spots in the Windy City. From the terrace, the skyscraper backdrop is sure to dazzle during day or night. The historic Cupola, the property’s highest point dating back to 1923, offers a more secluded space for couples to share a romantic moment and snap the perfect Valentine’s Day photo. The Wicker Park joint will host their annual “Wine About Your Love Life” on Valentine’s Day Monday, February 14 offering guests $7 glasses of wine specials. The so called “sushi speakeasy” is ensconced in a 500-square foot space situated in the Hotel and features a 17-course, 75-minute Omakase dining experience. The experience features an intimate 6-seat sushi counter with your own private chef all priced at $155 plus a craft cocktail flight for an additional charge. The Omakase menu consists of 17 delectable pieces of nigiri sushi ranging from bluefin to prized Hokkaido uni all made from sustainable fish sourced from all over the world. The Peninsula Hotel Chicago

The Peninsula Chicago, has been named ‘The Most Romantic Hotel in Chicago by USA Today and with a varied assortments of offering for the weekend of love, guests can customize their celebration with a selection of dining, spa, and guestroom services. Looking for a unique, over the top celebration? Reserve the Private Dining Room at Z Bar for an intimate evening of “Rosé and Roses” where you get 10 dozen red roses, a bottle of Dom Perignon Rosé, Oyster and Caviar for two people for two hours priced at US$3,500.  You can reserve a four-course prix fixe dinner in The Lobby restaurant for the perfect romantic celebration this Valentine’s Day. A special menu (priced at $148 per person, excluding tax and gratuity; additional $60/pp for wine pairing) is available on Monday, February 14th, 2022 and includes an Oyster amuse, followed by choice of Diver Scallop or Roasted Cauliflower Steak for the first course. Start with Chef Elmo Han’s traditional Dim Sum Trio: Shrimp and Chicken Dumpling, Baby Bok Choy Dumpling and Foie Gras Dumpling; followed by Crab Corn Chowder.  Entrée choices include Steamed Chilean Seabass or Honey Mango Beef Tenderloin. Complete the romantic dinner with a special Valentine’s Day dessert from the pastry chef.  The Valentine’s holiday menu is US$ 148 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
