On Friday, December 30, we joined HighSight in toasting to the new year at their 23rd annual EVE of the EVE Gala. A black tie event at the Merchandise Mart with over 1800 guests in attendance, this premier holiday soiree was flowing with drinks and debauchery (and was every bit as fabulous as it sounds).
HighSight, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide academic and social support to Chicago high school students. The organization also provides scholarships, tutoring and mentoring to enable students to attend and succeed at the high school of their choice. All EVE of the EVE proceeds went to HighSight.

While the event is usually held at the Union Station Great Hall, the change of venue to Merchandise Mart did not disappoint. Guests wandered around the entire first floor of the historic building Mart, admiring newly installed renovations while sipping on cocktails and taking in the iconic design showrooms.

The sought-after event also included a silent auction along with a cash raffle. The silent auction offered high-end items such as Chicago Blackhawks game tickets, a private garden tour with Rick Bayless in his home, and dinner at RPM Italian to name a few.

If you were more of the dancing type (ahem, me) EVE of the EVE had you covered. With live music from the cover band Maggie Speaks, guests were twirling in their tuxedos and gowns in the center lobby of the Merchandise Mart until the event ended at 1 am. Those guests in attendance that were still in the mood to paint the night red, the EVE of the EVE festivities continued to a reserved space at The Underground.

With everyone in good spirits and dripping with sequins, EVE of the EVE was definitely the way to ring have one last hurrah for 2016 and ring in the new year.
