A POSH NIGHT AT ANNABEL'S HONORING MAMIE WALTON & DR. JOEL SUGAR

Just as London’s finest such as,  Camilla Parker Bowles, Anna Wintour, Plum Sykes and Hamish Bowles  descend upon Annabel’s in London,  “A Posh Night at Annabel’s”  the fundraising event for the Illinois Eye-Bank saw some of  Chicago’s royalty come out to support the tour de force that is Mamie Walton. Fashioned after the über exclusive member’s only basement nightclub, “A Posh Night at Annabel’s” celebrated Gift of Sight honoree Dr. Joel Sugar and Woman of Vision 2012 recipient Mamie Walton.
Guests descended the grand staircase of the Peninsula Hotel and were able to view the vast array of auction items on display. When they walked on to the Terrace they were greeted with staff offering wine and a cocktail bar sponsored by Specs. IEB Board Chair Peter Latz and Executive Director Diane Hollingsworth, IL  Secretary of State Jesse White and Ms. Arab USA Christina Rafidia, Princess Tina Radziwill were  in attendance and mingled with guests such as Mark and Linda Heister, Bunky Cushing, Vonita Reescer, Michael O’Meara, Rick and Toni Canada, Heather Farley and her fiancé Bruce Ingram, Todd Kempton, Marsha Brenner, Warren and Hazel Barr,  Jeff and Tina Weller, Charles Hocevar, Lynne Bredfeldt, Chuck and Candace Jordan, Sherren Leigh, Irene Michaels, Greg Hyder, Sean Eshaghy.

After the cocktail reception, guests were then led into the grand ballroom for dinner but not before getting paparazzi like pictures at the entrance. The room glowed especially with the grand rose bouquet by the dance floor. Bill Zwecker was the emcee for the evening with remarks also made by Illinois Eye Bank Executive Director Diane Hollingsworth. 2011 honoree Jean Antoniou began with a very touching introduction(Mamie is the epitome of beauty and grace) as she presented Mamie Walton with her award. The Tiffany & Co engraved award was also presented to Dr. Joel Sugar by 2011 honoree Dr. Randy Epstein. In tradition of doing things her way, Mamie sang her thank you, Time after Time, to a rousing standing ovation and applause by guests.
