On June 30, young art and party loving Chicagoans will converge at the Art Institute of Chicago for the seventh annual Night Heist. This is a must attend on the summer social scene especially if you are a young professional here in the Chicagoland area. We’ve covered Night Heist over the years and it never disappoints. If you’ve ever attended Art After Dark, which is also hosted by the Evening Associates of The Art Institute of Chicago, you definitely want to make a scene at Night Heist 2017. Its Art After Dark x12. Not fully convinced? Here are 11 reasons why you should attend this year’s Night Heist on June 30.
1) Nothing beats a private night at the Museum. You’ll be one of the first to see the new Art Institute of Chicago exhibit, Gauguin: Artist as Alchemist plus you get your own guided tours of the exhibition, yes please! No need to play hooky for the day.

2) Art events allow you to show your creativity in attire. The typical dress code for an event like Night Heist calls for summer cocktail or in this case “tropical cocktail attire ” and these outfit inspirations below should help you get started.

3) If we’re being honest, the ROI of attending events like these vs say a night out at a club is bar none. First, there’s no ego driven bouncer to deny you entry access to an establishment that YOU will be spending your own money, the nerve! Second, your ticket price is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law, so your accountant will be very proud of you on that. Then you have the networking aspect. Play your cards right and get social enough, you might meet the person that will introduce you to that one opportunity you’ve been eyeing or better yet, you’ll be the blessing someone was looking for. Lastly, and the unspoken truth to great fundraising events like Night Heist is the open bar, enough said.
4) This year’s event co-chairs are Caitlynde Brancovsky and Antoine Jennings. Jennings has appeared multiple times on this site as one of the ‘best dressed on the scene’ guests. What will he wear Friday June 30, you’ll have to attend to see.

5) Award winning mixologists from some of Chicago’s favorite hangouts including Nandini Khaund of Cindy’s, Heiseler Hospitality’s Sportsman’s Club and Logan square boîte Estero, Danny Shapiro of Scofflaw Group, Dogma Group will be making some stellar drinks. On the fence about getting VIP tickets? Come find out why Lost Lake has been semifinalist for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program, 2 years in a row which is no easy feat, as they are the featured VIP mixologists.
6) Evening Associates of The Art Institute of Chicago are emerging leaders in their own rights and thus, proceeds from Night Heist proceeds support the Evening Associates’ mission to support exhibitions at the Art Institute devoted to today’s emerging artists. This year the Evening Associates are funding the exhibition, Helena Almeida: Work is never finished.

7) DJ’s for the evening are Colour Vision (in VIP), Brandon Markell Holmes (Headliner in GA). Brandon Holmes is featured on the new Gorillaz Album and is set to perform with Gorillaz at their Northerly Island show.
8) VIP perks. The VIP reception which goes from 7:30-9:30 include a private reception in the museum’s South Garden with signature cocktails from Lost Lake, specialty entertainment from Colour Vision, a presentation by exhibition curator Gloria Groom, exhibition access starting at 7:30, and a complimentary raffle ticket to start your bidding.

9) Speaking of bidding. Night Heist 2017 has 11 raffle packages that includes items such as Lollapalooza VIP tickets, private studio visit with Hebru Brantley, 4 VIP Tickets to 5 Shows at Northely Island this summer and others waiting for you.
10) Single and ready to mingle? Coupled up and looking for a fun night out? This is the event for you. Name it you’ll see it. If you’re trying to meet a fellow art lover, no better time to do it, just make sure you do some minimal research on Gaugin and the exhibit or don’t, it’s not a stuffy group. If you’re coupled up, take a break from your routine of Plated or Blue Apron and Netflix or group dates and come let your hair down. Let your friends see how lit your instastory and snapchat can be
11) You look like you want to make the scene. Then get your tickets and we’ll see you on the scene; maybe you’ll even make our ‘Best Dressed on the Scene’ list.
