America’s Cup was born after an 1851 race in England when the the schooner, named America, passed the Royal Yacht in first position and symbolized a great victory for the new world (America) over the old (Britain). In more than 150 years since the infamous race in England, America’s Cup holds the reputation as the most difficult trophy in sport to win. The World Series taking place in Chicago is one of the qualifying events for the 2017 America’s Cup championship in Bermuda. Teams battling for the trophy include: Oracle Team USA, Artemis Racing Sweden, Great Britain Land Rover Bar, SoftBank Team Japan, Groupama Team France, and Emirates New Zealand.
